La Famiglia

Today is Susan's birthday--she finally matured to join me in the post-twenties. After getting more difficult information about Whitney than I care to recount, I took Susan to a nice Italian restaurant. The food was excellent, and plentiful. But better than that, the atmosphere was sufficiently private to allow Susan and I our first opportunity to begin discussing where we going--at this point, our conclusion is "we're not sure."

We would ask you, our friends and relatives, "the family" to continue to pray that Susan and I will be able to readily discern the Lord's will for us by Monday so that we can return to CHOP with confidence.

In other news, our warmest thanks to Melody for sending a care package complete with a birthday banner, candles, and matches. It brightened our day after our last consultation.

By the way, we highly recommend the restaurant if you're ever in Philadelphia.

Susan, I'm so glad you were able to get out on your birthday. I just woke up to feed the baby and thought I'd check on you all. You are on my mind often and I wish there was something I could do. We are crying out to God and asking him to heal Whitney. There are many people in St. Louis praying for your family by name.
In Him,
Julie

Oh Matt and Susan, I am CONFIDENT the Lord WILL guide you on your decisions that need to be made this weekend. I am sure you will confidently be able to discern where the Lord is leading you as I know you both are leaning on Him with all of these concerns. Psalm 116:1 "I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy." I know you want so much for the decision to be one that the Lords name is glorified in it all. I will keep praying for that to become a reality for you both. "Draw nigh to the Lord and He WILL draw nigh to you." I am looking forward to your next post. (p.s. I am glad you got your "package" in time, I was worried you would get it late!--yet another blessing from the Lord knowing what you need when. :-) Praise His name.

I am so pleased to hear that there is a normal part to your lives, too. A birthday is an event to be noted; where near or far our prayers for both of you concern God's grace. It truly is sufficient!
As for seeking His will, it is a matter of prayer and everyone who cares about you is praying. He holds the future. May He cause His face to shine upon and most importantly, give His Peace.

I am overwhelmed by the faith evident all over this blog. I did not know such a band of believers existed like this! Your witness is life changing for me.

Matt & Susan-

Happy belated birthday to Susan! I'm so glad that you got to "get away" for a little while and celebrate Susan's birthday. We continue to think of you and uphold you in our prayers here at home. We love and miss you!

Susan and Matt,
Just to let you know that we have been praying for you and checking up on you often. We will pray for you in a special way tonight and tomorrow...that God will give you clear indications of His will, unity and peace with whatever avenue you decide to pursue. We also have been praying that God will use you in an extraordinary way as His witnesses with the people you encounter through this journey.
