Wheelchair Backflips

A friend of mine just told me that ESPN was running a story today about a teenager with spina bifida who does backflips in his wheelchair. The story is encouraging--click on the headline above to see it.

What an amazing story of a families love and determination. (I cried~ i know you aren't surprised) I think we live in a time where people who are different than us is a lot more accepted. I pray this is what you find as you raise Whitney. I know God will use her to further His Kingdom. What a joy to know she is loved by so many. I pray that as she grows you will be able to say the things about her that this father said about his son. May God spare her emotional pain and show her she is loved and created by Him.
A woman we know wrote this about her daughter who was just diagnosed with cancer. I thought it was beautiful...
For God Almighty created her inmost being; He knit her together in my womb years ago.
I praise Him because she is fearfully and wonderfully made. His works are wonderful,
I know that full well. Her frame was not hidden from Him when she was made in the secret place.
When she was woven together in the depths of the earth, His eyes saw her unformed body.
All the days ordained for her were written in His
book before one of them came to be.
(Based on Psalm 139:13-16)
