January 8, 2008

We now know that Whitney's birthday will be on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. That Monday we will have a maturity amniocentesis to ensure that her lungs have fully developed and if so we will keep the date otherwise we will move it to a few days later. I am not sure how I feel about being awake while they perform the c-section...It just doesn't seem right.

Our next appointment, December 3, will give us more details about Whitney's care after birth. We will have another ultrasound, tour of the NICU, and have a consultation with the neonatalogist.

Currently we are trying to prepare for a few practical changes such as moving Fiona to a toddler bed and purchasing a few new items. The next 6 1/2 weeks are going to fly by with all of our Christmas festivities. She will be here before we know it.

Time flys by and so will December. What amazes me is that God's grace and His mercies are so vast that they are beyond our comprehension. The result is that when we take the time to look back, we see His marvelous handiwork. I know that will be true for the events leading up to Whitney's birth and to those that will follow.

We've been checking your blog weekly for updates on Whitney so our prayers can be specific. We were excited to see that she will be born on Steph's birthday! What a great way for God to remind us to pray for all of you on the day she arrives into the world.

It's nice to see an update! We've been praying for you. I had 2 c-sections (awake for both) and there are some benefits. I just wish I had read up on it more before my first one- I skipped over all those chapters thinking "well, Of course I won't be needing THAT"! Until caleb tried to come out bottom first! I'm sure it will all go well and we will be praying for you guys and checking back often for more updates! Ask me if you want to know the benefits:)
Love in Christ,
Laura

Yeah a birthday! How wonderful to know! I love birthdays! I along with so many of your friends and relatives are anxiously awaiting the day to see Whitney and all her hair and EVERYTHING else about her. I can not wait to see her in your arms! We will continue to pray. May you feel the Lords presence today at your appointments. In Christs love,
Melody Timmerman

Matt & Susan;
Been through the C-section thing, it's really not so bad. It's kind of cool being awake, but not feeling anything they're doing! They were talking about the 12# baby they delivered that morning, during my C-section.
Encouraging words about club feet--had a niece that was born with them, and has done very well. Even played high school soccer--a wonderful blessing!
